TVXQ

TVXQ, or Tong Vfang Xien Qi, celebrates their 11th year anniversary since their debut.

Also known as Tohoshinki or DBSK (Dong Bang Shin Ki), this group is the most well-known K-pop group in Asia and even the rest of the world. Because of their immense popularity, their fan club, Cassiopeia, made it to the Guinness Book of Records as the “world’s largest fanclub” in 2008. And that was just four years ago.

Rewind to eleven years ago. Yunho, Changmin, Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu just finished their training at S.M. Entertainment and they were about to debut on December 26, 2003. The five boys debuted at SBS Inkigayo with their first single, “Hug”.

This video feels like a long time ago.  They were babies back then! Now they’re men.

And because they’re TVXQ, they deserve more than one video on this post.

I’ve only seen a few clips of TVXQ’s live performances online, but my most favourite is their “Proud” performance at their Five in the Black Concert in Japan in 2007.

When the video passed its 2:30 mark, I started crying. This concert is so emotional that I don’t recommend watching this in public, unless you’re the type of person that doesn’t easily get swayed. Or you’re not a Cassiopeia. But I’m not a Cassiopeia. I’m a VIP. That definitely says something.

Below is Yunho and Changmin’s video message to the fans.

What are your favourite TVXQ songs?

Editor’s note: I am aware that TVXQ is now comprised of Yunho and Changmin. However, I will keep referring to them as a five-member group because TVXQ today would never be TVXQ if it weren’t for the TVXQ in the past, a five-member group.
