It is both a blessing and a curse that we will never have a shortage of Asian celebs to write about. It is great because we can provide you with eye candies all year round but it also sucks that sometimes we miss out on the more renowned celebs in the world. No matter, this week we are putting another entertain queen on our list.
This week’s babe hails from Tee Dub, she is a globe-trotting singer and dancer, and she has been dubbed the Asia’s Dancing Queen. I am talking about the one and only, the most incredible, Jolin Tsai (蔡依林).
It has been a whopping 10 years since the release of her two greatest hits “Rewind” (倒帶) and “It’s Love” (就是愛). Through dedication and hard work, she has become the queen she is now, dominating the music charts with every new album release.
Over the past decade she evolved from a playful and sweet girl-next-door into the powerful and relentless queen of mando pop. Her prowess can be recognized through the diversity of dance styles and she is now the richest singer in Taiwan, beating out Jay Chou (周杰倫), Leehom Wang (王力宏), and A-Mei (張惠妹).
Jolin is back on the music charts this month with her 13th album Play (呸). True to the title track, she intends to GO BIG OR GO HOME. She has already decided on making a music video for every track on them album. She is collaborating with artists not only from the music world such as J-pop queen Amuro Namie (安室奈美恵) but also from the film world like Hong Kong legend Carina Lau (劉嘉玲) to bring us the ultimate visual album.
