If you’re not bundling up these days under at least three to four layers of woolen clothing, you’re probably finding yourself a human popsicle after spending more than five minutes outdoors. For fashionistas, layering can be an issue when it seems to mean sacrificing one’s figure underneath a potential avalanche of bulky winter clothing articles. The solution? Long and deliciously warm woolen cardigans under which one can wear anything from cropped sweaters to a myriad of shirts. Lately, I’ve been wearing my favourite long cardigans non-stop as an easy way to add warmth to outfits that are in need of another layer of coziness– they seem to go with just about anything!

When shopping for a long cardigan that will act as a fall/winter wardrobe staple, I recommend first buying it in a neutral shade such as grey, brown, white, or black. Once you have covered the basics, feel free to go crazy with prints and wilder colours (but be forewarned that it will be much harder to pair louder styles with certain outfits).

I hope that you all are enjoying the gorgeous, yet very cold, weather that we have been experiencing of late. When you go outside, don’t be fooled by the sunshine into thinking that you’ll be able to survive without a good sweater or five!
