The Los Angeles electro-rap and hip hip group returns to their roots with their new record KTown Riot EP.
Released by Cherrytree Records, the six-track mini-album is dedicated to Korea Town, “to show love to the city that’s had our back since day one”. They also mentioned in their Facebook page that “Riot means growth from chaos”. The quartet are pertaining to the infamous riot in 1992 that shaped and changed the community.
The catchy single, “Bang It To The Curb”, is a mix of bass and hip hop—it still has that distinct FM brand but with a harder sound with electronic synths thanks to Dutch DJ Sidney Samson.
The music video also features Les Twins, aka identical twin brothers Laurent and Larry Bourgeois, who will steal your attention (and your heart) at the end of the video.
Together with the release of their long-awaited EP, Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif, and DJ Virman also released a mini documentary about the KTown Riot. Watch the first part of the documentary below:
