AX3 Battery Airplane Wednesday- Olivia Ong 4

One of our staff members, Charmine, had the wonderful chance to sit down with Olivia Ong when she performed at the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Gala just two months ago. We could tell that Olivia is a very genuine and sweet girl just by sitting and talking with her! Throughout the performance and interview, you could really tell she has a great passion for music. She shares with us the latest on her current projects, inspirations, and how she treats music in her life:

1. AX3: I hear that it’s your first time here in Vancouver, what is your impression so far?

Olivia: I arrived yesterday and I am only staying for 4 days. I won’t really have the time to go around town but maybe next time when I am staying longer. The weather is really comfortable when it’s raining.

2. AX3: What are some projects you are working on right now?

Olivia: I am currently working on my next album, a full Mandarin album. It is going to be different and a huge challenge because it’s my first Mandarin album. It will have more music maturity because I am not just singing the usual quiet songs. I just want to have more fun on stage.

3. AX3: What is your favourite song?

I really like the song “Let it Rain” from my Romance album. It’s a song I wrote when I was really down and I was describing my emotions, so my mood was like rain. But it’s also important to learn how to look on the positive side of things in order to move on, which is the most healthy attitude you can have.

4. AX3: Who would you like to work with?

Olivia: Well I guess if it’s for fun, I would say PSY

5. AX3: Is there anything you haven’t really tried?

Olivia: I am interested in acting in the future

6. AX3: And finally, what keeps you charged?

Olivia: My passion for music and the support from my fans. It all comes into play and most importantly you have to find meaning in what you do. I do believe before you become an artist you need to work on your character. I aspire to be someone genuine and honest.

For now let’s sit back, relax, and enjoy this song from her latest album “等等
