After teasing fans with a short trailer to their new mini series, Wong Fu Productions have released the first part of Home Is Where The Hans Are. This first part focuses on the protagonist, Derek, as he comes home to his mother after two years of trying to be an artist. However upon his arrival, he is surprised to learn that his mother has remarried to a Chinese man and now has new step-siblings.
The series aims to adjust audiences seeing Asian characters in typical TV family scenarios, which viewers may not be used to. For this project, Wong Fu worked with FremantleMedia who want to promote Asian Americans in mainstream media.
