Kollaboration Seattle is the Northwest branch of Kollaboration, the global talent competition held in 13 cities across North America. Hundreds of people gathered at the Auburn Performing Arts Center for the last stop of the year before the Kollaboration 11 grand finale.
Kollaboration Seattle 2 was hosted by Comedian Joey Guila and Executive Producer of the Kollaboration, Roy Choi. This year’s show featured six competitors, three special guests, and five guest judges. The special guest performers included America’s Best Dance Crew finalists Massive Monkees, Kollaboration Seattle finalist Gowe, and Australian twin sisters Jayesslee.
Six talented competitors battled it out on stage to hopefully claim the $1000 Grand Prize. The competitors included dance crew Boom-Katzz, singer Clairbel Novelo, rap and Rock fusion band Lion’s Ambition, vocalist Lijie, pianist Iwillbot, and singer Stuart Sakoda. Each competitor had a few minutes to entertain the crowd with their talents, and the guests judges vigorously debated to determine the Grand Prize Winner. In addition, the audience choice award empowered the crowd to vote and choose their favourite act to win $500.
Clairbel Novelo was the first one up, singing a medley of her favourite songs. Her powerful voice echoed through the stage and captured the attention of the entire audience. Following Clairbel was Iwillbot, a talented pianist who extended his piano playing skills by playing with a bag on his head, his back to the keys, and juggling two apples. Stuart Sakoda was the third competitor, bringing an acoustic guitar to the stage with his melodic voice. The Boom-Katzz were next, competing with a high energy dance routine.

In between the competition, Massive Monkees were the first of the special guests to perform, showing off their breakdance moves. The intermission consisted of a singing and dancing freestyle contest, with talented acts hand-picked from the audience. The winners of both competitions walked away with a $100 prize from KAC-Washington.

Lijie was the next competitor after the break, bringing a guitar and a band to the stage. The last competitors were Lion’s Ambition, performing their single “Memories”
At this point, the competition was over but the show was still on! Seattle rapper Gowe hit the stage to perform a few of his classic hits, including Seattle Sunshine and By the Sea. He also performed Star in my Eyes live for the first time with fellow Kollaboration Seattle finalist Erin Kim.

Following Gowe, the Jayesslee sisters ended the show with their acoustic performance. The girls performed a 4 song set; but just like their performance in Vancouver, no one was disappointed.

At this point, the judges made their decision and was ready to announce it to the crowd. After a long anxious wait, the hosts announced the “audience choice” to Clairbel Novelo, and crowned Lion’s Ambition the winner of Kollaboration Seattle 2! Lion’s Ambition now will compete against other Kollaboration finalists to secure the 11th spot for Kollaboration 11, held in LA in November.
Kollaboration empowers talented people all over North America to share their talents with others, in hopes to support each other and advance their dreams forward. We would like to thank the Kollaboration family for keeping true to their mandate of “Empowerment through Entertainment” and helping so many talented people expose themselves to new audiences and connections.
