New Nintendo 3DS Add-On

September 7, 2011 Peter Tang Comments

If you heard that rumor about the Nintendo 3DS getting a second analog slider, the rumors may be true. According to Japanese video game magazine, Famitsu, the 3DS will be getting a hardware add-on that will attach to the handheld device adding a second “Circle Pad”. With two analog sticks, the additions would be perfect for the console to play the upcoming 3DS version of Capcom’s hit game Monster Hunter.

Other rumors state that Nintendo will be launching a revised version of the device next year. French News site, 01net, have claimed that the manufacturers will be releasing a version of the console that will have less emphasis on glasses-free 3D graphics. Despite that being the device’s main selling feature, it allegedly made a number of users feel ill.

With the Tokyo Game Show starting next week, Nintendo may be revealing the new add-on and confirm the rumors. Nintendo is also holding a 3DS-themed press conference on the 13th of September, possibly announcing more details.

So a new analog stick for the 3DS, do you think it’s too much? Or is it the perfect addition to Nintendo’s newest handheld?
