MC Jin Exclusive Interview - Part One

June 22, 2011 AX3 Comments

Last month in May, the famous hip-hop artist MC Jin (歐陽靖) made his way to Vancouver as the headline feature for Inspire 2011. Everyone on the AX3 team took part in the audience, and covered a night that showcased a lot of local talent. Shortly afterwards, we were all able to meet up with Jin in person, and was able to sit down with him for an exclusive interview.

First appearing on the rap scene in the early 2000s, Jin was and remains to this day one of the few successful Chinese rappers. Known for his superior freestyling ability, the artist first gained exposure on BET’s 106 and Park where he was inducted into the Freestyle Friday Hall of Fame. Jin would eventually make his way on to the Ruff Ryders music label where he would release a very successful debut album called The Rest is History.

More than 10 years later, Jin is still in the game. Having recently released a mixtape, the talented artist is currently working on an upcoming English album. Did I mention that he’s also appeared in numerous endorsements, and can add actor to his resume?

Sitting down with Jin, he goes in-depth about the concept behind his latest mixtape “Sincerely Yours”, the inspiration for his music, his recent single “Shoot for the Moon”, and the importance of social media.
