On Friday night, the AX3 team was given the opportunity to attend JJ Lin 林俊傑’s live concert at The Center in Vancouver. Our entire team was extremely excited for this concert especially after meeting him in person for our exclusive interview. JJ, a Singaporean mandopop artist best known for his soulful vocals and romantic ballads, is incredibly talented and he showcased nothing less than that on stage that night.
Alisa, an up and coming talent from Taiwan, opened the concert with her powerful vocals. She hyped the audience up with her compelling rendition of Mariah Carey’s Hero and other songs. She was then joined by Wing Luo 羅文裕, another artist from Taiwan. Coupled with his skillful and energetic guitar-playing, they engaged the audience together with a duet, as well as a few of Wing’s original numbers.
Before long, JJ appeared on stage with one of his biggest hits 曹操, wearing a deep V outfit showing off his toned chest. His performance was then followed by more of his popular, chart-topping favourites including 背對背擁抱 and 小酒窩. As a talented musician, JJ also flaunted his skills on the piano as he played and sang a medley consisting of 她說,記得,愛笑的眼睛 and 當你. In addition to that, JJ also presented a special “gift for Vancouver”—a cover of Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are”. It was an amazing interpretation of the already popular song, mixed with JJ’s own unique vocals, that blew the audience away. He continued to impress us with his dance moves in his performances of 加油 and 不潮不用花錢. JJ then completes the concert with his karaoke classics 江南 and 一千年以後.
Throughout his 45-minute performance, JJ enthusiastically interacted with his fans, making jokes and praising what a beautiful city Vancouver is. As it is his first time here, diehard fans even shouted out asking him to stay. Despite the length of the concert, JJ was no short of devoting himself on stage. He commanded the performance with his outstanding musical talents and took the audience’s breath away effortlessly with his timeless tunes.
Stay tuned for our exclusive interview with JJ Lin!
